Dr   McClurg is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon who has practiced in   Jacksonville for the past six years.  Dr. McClurg lives in Jacksonville with his wife and three sons.   Dr. McClurg completed his residency in Orthoapedic Surgery at  The Ohio State University Medical Center.   He regularly attends courses and lectures in the latest techniques and trends in Orthopaedic medicine and continues to offer cutting edge care to the residents of Onslow and surrounding counties.   He was recently named one of America’s Best Orthopaedic Surgeons.   Did you know that Dr. McClurg is the only Orthopaedic Surgeon taking emergency room call at Onslow Memorial Hospital and is the only full time active member of the medical staff in Orthopaedic Surgery at OMH?   Dr. McClurg is active in the medical staff leadership at OMH.   He has served as the Second vice chief of staff, the Department of Surgery Chairman and was recently elected the Vice Chief of Staff at Onslow Memorial Hospital by the attending medical staff.
       
Dr. McClurg is active in our community.   Among other community activities he is a member of the Jacksonville•Onslow Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee (MAC) which has the goal of enhancing the relationship between our Marines and their families and the surrounding community in Onslow County.   The Camp Lejeune/Onslow County MAC is one of the best, if not the best, Military Affairs Committee in the country.
       
From time to time you may see high school or college students in clinic with Dr.  McClurg.   These students are interested in medical careers.   “Mentoring” or “shadowing” internships allow these students to see how and why surgeons do what they do.   We are pleased to announce that Dr. McClurg and Coastal Carolina Orthopaedic Surgeons, PA (CCOS, PA) have again won the Onslow County BASES (Businesses Assisting Schools in Education) Hall of Fame Award.   This award recognizes significant contribution to our schools that enhance and enrich the education of Onslow County students.
